Tanakan® is currently marketed in over 80 countries worldwide. Its efficacy is recognised by a large number of physicians throughout the world who also appreciate its excellent safety profile.

Tanakan® has been the uncontested leader among vasodilators since the 1980s and is by far the first choice in the prescription of physicians in many countries, with its main use in cerebral indications.

Tanakan® obtained worldwide recognition when WHO classified Tanakan® as an anti-dementia drug. Now, it is marketed as anti-dementia drug in 12 countries.

Since patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) have a high risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Tanakan® is of great interest with the capacity to slow the early stages of the disease. An important R&D program based on Alzheimer’s dementia prevention, conducted in over 6700 patients, is now ongoing to demonstrate the interest of Tanakan® / EGb 761® as a preventive drug to delay the onset of AD. Advances in epidemiology now show that patients with MCI, and particularly amnestic MCI have a higher risk of developing AD. This underlines the interest of the important ongoing R&D program.
