What is Haemorroids/piles?

Venous disease, manifested as haemorrhoids or peripheral venous insufficiency, is a common complaint faced by many practicing clinicians.

Venous disease is a multi-factorial disease involving haemodynamic, rheological and metabolic disturbances, tissue oedema, free radical production, lesions of venous wall etc., for which no single chemical entity could satisfy the ideal treatment criteria. It was obvious that the best approach was to combine principals that could target the contributing factors leading to the disease.
