fortrans® is an ISOTONIC COLONIC LAVAGE SOLUTION containing PEG 4000 and electrolyte, was develop to meet the above criteria of an effective and safe colonic lavage solution.
The osmotic activity of PEG 4000 and the electrolyte concentration resulted in virtually no intestinal/plasma electrolyte exchange. Isotonic fortrans® solution will be retained in the large intestine, this will result in diarrhoea and cleansing of the colon.
Isotonic fortrans® solution is well tolerated even in infant and the elderly.
